In the 4th quarter of 2020, VIRTUO signed a lease in future state of completion with the logistics provider XPLOG, a subsidiary of SEALOGIS owned by the GEODIS Group, for the construction of a 24,000 m2 port logistics platform in the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille Fos, more precisely in the town of Port Saint-Louis-du-Rhone.
“This transaction comes at a very special time. The health crisis we’re going through forces us to be resilient. We are very happy to pursue our development in the PACA region and to welcome SEALOGIS, a subsidiary of GEODIS, which after a successful growth in Le Havre, has chosen to set up in the largest French port” emphasizes Grégory BLOUIN, President of VIRTUO.
” SEALOGIS, through its subsidiary XPLOG, is currently the leading port logistics operator in Le Havre with more than 180,000m² of warehouses in operation.
We are looking to replicate this success in Marseille and become the leading port logistics operator in France,” said Christophe Buisson, President of SEALOGIS.
This signature marks the launch of the second phase of the project, known as V. PARK FOS-SUR-MER. Work has already begun and will be completed in 11 months, with delivery planned for Q3 2021.
The building consists of 2 cells of approximately 12,000 m2 each.
It will feature cutting-edge standards with PV panels on the roof terraces allowing for almost complete energy self-sufficiency.
It will also benefit from a BREEAM VERY GOOD environmental certification.
